８月２日　グランドキャニオンだぞ

 

↑I got up at 5:30 and asked clerk to book my tour of Grand Canyon. Thanks to Lob (clerk), I succeeded to join the tour. This is the breakfast. We have to make a pancake ourselves.

　５時半に起き、宿の人にグランドキャニオンツアーへの予約をお願いしました。Lobさんがよくやってくれたお陰で、ツアーに参加できました。これは朝食です。自分でホットケーキを作らなければなりません・・・。

 

↑After 10 o’clock, I went to the downtown to take a bus. The street was very calm in the daytime.

　１０時過ぎにバスに乗るため町へ出かけました。昼間の通りは静かです。

 

↑LUNAROSSA!!!! We know the same name restaurant in Tonga. I’ve been there about 3 times.

　ルナロッサは同じ名前のレストランがトンガにもありました。３回位行きましたね～。

 

↑At last, I can visit the Grand Canyon. First, I took a bus to the airport. (10 minutes)

　遂にグランドキャニオンに行けます。最初、空港までバスで行きました。

 

↑Next, I took the airplane to get to the Grand Canyon. (30 minutes)

I looked down the Grand Canyon from the sky.

Though, some tourist was scared of the small airplane, I don’t care about it, because I’m used to the very small airplane thanks to the experience of my business trip in Tonga. Especially Hirono’s airplane in ‘Eua Island is much smaller than this one.

　次に飛行機でグランドキャニオンまで行きます。空から見下ろせました。

 何人かの旅行者は小さい飛行機を怖がっておりましたが、Torojiro先生はトンガ国内の出張経験のお陰で小さい飛行機に慣れており、何とも思いません。特にエウアのそろばんガールズHironoさんの飛行機はもっと小さいのです。

↑I went down to the bottom by helicopter. (10 minutes) I saw the majestic cliffs at close range.I have not taken a helicopter for 2 years. Last time I got into the helicopter in New Zealand. When I enjoyed a Heli- Skiing in 2010.

谷の底までヘリコプターで下りました。雄大な崖を間近で見ました。2年間ヘリコプターに乗っていませんでした。前回はニュージーランドで２０１０年にヘリスキーを楽しんだ時でした。

↑At the bottom, I took a boat, and enjoyed cruising. I looked up the Grand Canyon from the Colorado River. The Grand Canyon has 1000m-high and the river has 2,333 km length. What a large-scale.

　谷底でボートに乗りクルージングを楽しみました。コロラド川からグランドキャニオンを見上げました。高さは１，０００mあり、長さは２３３３ｋｍもあります。スケールがデカイ！！

↑I saw a lot of native American life there. Some of native Americans are working as performers.

　たくさんのアメリカン・インディアンの暮らしを見ました。何人かのインディアンの方はパフォーマーとして働いていました。

 

↑On the way back, by chance, one lady whose name is Vicky sat next to me. We talked with each other. She showed me their traditional necklace made of stone, and I showed my YAMANEKO doll made from clay. I gave No. 365 YAMANEKO to her; she gave me the traditional necklace. The shape stands for an arrow.

 Although, I gave nearly 20 YAMANEKOs to American, it’s YAMANEKO’s first time to go to a native American. She said, there are only 1,500 native American living.

 帰りに、Vickyさんという女性が隣に座りました。お話しました。彼女は石で作られた伝統的なネックレスを見せてくれました。Torojiro先生は粘土で作られた山ネコを見せました。山ネコNo.３６５をあげました。そのお返しに伝統的なネックレスをもらいました。その形は矢を表しているようです。

　アメリカ人には２０体近く山ネコを渡しておりますが、アメリカン・インディアンの方の所へ山ネコが行くのは初めてです。今はたった１，５００人しかいないようです。

 

↑After I came back to my accommodation, I took shower and nap. Following that I went out for dinner. The street was so noisy in the nighttime.

　宿に帰ってから、シャワーを浴び、昼寝して、夕食を食べに出かけました。夜の通りはうるさいです。

　ギャンブルにもアミューズメントにも興味が無いので・・・

↑I passed through the street and had Mc. Donald’s with seeing the street. I prefer natural place ,like the Grand Canyon, to urban places.

　通りを通過し、マクドナルドで食べました。町よりグランドキャニオンみたいな自然が好きです。
